Three Ceramic Paintings for St Austell, Channelling Bernard Leach in The Age of Aquarius
Permanently installed at Old Vicarage Place, St Austell, Cornwall
Completed in 2021, The Age of Aquarius was commissioned by the Austell Project, for permanent public display in St Austell town centre, in Cornwall, UK. The artwork, along with ceramic commissions by other selected artists, can be found as part of the Whitegold Ceramics Trail, celebrating the long-history of china clay extraction and industry in the area. The artwork is made from wheel-thrown and press moulded terracotta tiles, with coloured slips, oxides, transparent and coloured glazes.
